How should i plant tuberoses?

Share
Tuberoses should not be planted too deeply. Plant so the top of the bulb is 1-2 inches below the soil surface. If you plant them deeper than this, there is more chance of them having fungal problems.
If your soil is not particularly well-drained, you can plant them in hills.
If you plan to leave them in the ground for two or three years, you should space them 6-8 inches apart, so the expanding clump of bulbs will have room. If you plan to dig them and store them over the winter each year, they can be planted 2-4 inches apart.
If you’re planting in pots, you can space them as closely as one inch apart, for maximum blooming effect.
We plant them in four-foot wide beds. We do five or six rows in a bed, with 8 or so inches between the rows.
If you are planting as an accent in a landscape or garden, they are most beautiful when planted in groupings of five or more.
Whether you are planting in rows or in groupings, make sure that the hole or trench you dig is a bit deeper than you need, and that it has some loose soil in the bottom to encourage good drainage. If you have dug a hole or trench and you have hit a “hard pan” (very hard soil because it’s never been cultivated), try to break it up somewhat, again to encourage good drainage.
